12 Days of Chandeliers

I never wrote a Thanksgiving gratitude post. I mean I wrote one but it was never published... And it isn't that I am an ungrateful human being because I have so much that I am grateful for. To say the least, Thanksgiving was just plain hard this year. Plus, coming back from Thanksgiving break is always hectic and crazy; it is the end of the semester filled with finals and papers. It is quite an art if you are able to mix holiday cheer into such a stressful time and I admire those who successfully do so. Admittedly this post probably makes it seem like I was able to achieve this but lets be honest here, I had way too much fun. And as a result I spent more time figuring out how bad I could do on a final, and maintain my grade, than I actually did studying for the final. I'm a procrastinator like most, but never in my college career have I ever procrastinated my finals this bad... case of "senioritis" I guess.

We Gonna Party Like It's Your Birthday

We, The Chandeliers, have established a few ground rules about our new home:
- Donuts are always an acceptable breakfast choice
- We have an open door policy and we love random visitors
- Everything must be spray painted gold
- Chips & salsa trump all other midnight snack options
- Lipstick is a must for all parties and social outings
- If you're going to listen to Sam Smith, he must be listened to at the loudest volume possible

Basically, The Chandelier House is a never-ending party. And this past Saturday the eight of us actually hosted the One & Only 7th Tri-Annual Chandelier Shin-dig. It was the perfect party. The polaroids, the tea lights, the bonfire, the balloons, the salsa, the outdoor couches, the donuts, the music, the glitter, the drinks, the chocolate fountain, the dancing, the birthday cake...
You get the picture.

During my time at BYU I have thrown quite a few parties, and while they have always been well attended, I have never had 200+ people at my party at one moment. But on Saturday night we did. Our party was a hit and a huge success!

Granted there are eight girls living under one roof but really people, this party was epic. All of us wanted to throw a party for so many reasons mainly focusing on Dani's birthday and the pure fact that our house is finished; so of course we wanted to invite people into our new home. We have worked extremely hard on the house - repainting, renovating, moving the furniture, decorating... We've invested a lot into our home and it shows. It made me so happy to invite my friends (and the new ones I made that very night) into my home to foster friendship and to just have fun 'cause weekend.

So here is a shoutout to all who were in attendance, all eight of us loved having you! We are so glad you love our new home and invite you to come visit us anytime. Literally, open door policy people. Huge congrats to Dani Van Wagoner for turning 23! And a final celebratory toast to all the many more parties ahead of us girls at The Chandelier House.

Park City Chicks

Park City chicks, Park-Park City chicks....

Ya. 

Chels, Litia, Mads and I all ventured up to Park City for a night out. Sometimes you just need to leave Provo, get some fresh air and just breathe. Plus all of us are so busy that when we do get time together we have to make the most of it. 

During the winter I was in Park City literally every other day to board. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday I would dive up to meet my best friend on the mountain. I've missed it. Park City is such a beautiful place and Provo Canyon definitely has a special place in my heart. 

On our night out we went down the Alpine Slide, visited the boutiques on Main Street, ate delicious dinner at Squatters Pub and topped the night off with caramel apples at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. After we journeyed up to SLC to visit some friends and play a classic game "What Are The Odds."

Ultimately I am so grateful for these girls in my life. It's interesting how we all came together. Each of us were floaters and somehow by the grace of God we all floated together. These ladies have been an answer to so many prayers. I know that the Lord is always watching over me and is so very aware of my needs. 

Yes, all of us girls are so different and sure we all have our little tiffs. But at the end of the night we make a great group of gals and I would do anything for any of these ladies.

Cheers to America

Cheers to America!

Okay can we talk about how much I love America. But really I love America. And I know it is like the "cool" thing to love America but I've loved it since the day I was born. So yeah I guess you could say I'm claiming hipster status when I say I loved America before it was cool.

I think the true test to see if someone loves America is when you ask the question: Do you love the 4th of July more or Christmas?

My answer? 4th of July. Easy.

Don't get me wrong I love Christmas. But I love Christmas time, it is my favorite holiday season. However as far as actual holiday day? I like the 4th of July more than the 25th of December.

Anyways, I'm glad we could establish my love for America.

4th of July celebrations start on the first day of July for me. You know, gotta celebrate America week! Especially since the World Cup is happening right now. Prior to the 4th of July the girls and I went to a firework show in American Fork, had a classic all-American meal at In N' Out, visited the food truck roundup, bought an American flag, roamed the streets on the July 3rd, had delicious Texas Twister drinks and got our game on at the "social seven"... Not really, but ya we like to think we fit in with that scene.

On the morning of the 4th I floated the Provo river with a my brother, cousin and a few friends. It was frigid but totally worth it! After the girls and I invited some friends over and had a BBQ and pool party at Ashlee's. Of course the pool party was complete with Rocket popsicles and a solid game of melon ball. In the afternoon we went to the Vivint party - again totally our scene - and then watched the Stadium of Fire fireworks. We topped off the night with an intense roman candle war.

So yes, I think it's safe to say that this 4th of July was exactly my cup of tea.

Gems

Here's to these sweet ladies who picked me up from the airport with a "Welcome home Sister Arrington!" sign and a cupcake in hand. Who play with me even when I'm moody, exhausted and worn out. Who have already made my summer the best yet. Who have pillow talk with me nonstop. Who eat piles high of sweet potato fries with me in a complete judgement free zone. 

I love y'all oh so much. Thanks for being some real gems in my life.

You Can't Sit With Us

It's Wednesday. And on Wednesdays we wear pink.

Mean Girls is one of the most quoted chick-flicks of all times. Last Wednesday was the 10 year anniversary of the Mean Girls film. To honor the film, the plastics and I threw a Mean Girls inspired party complete with hump day treats and a Burn Book. Needless to say, our party was pretty fetch. The Chandelier House

You're looking at the five new owners of The Chandelier House! Okay there is actually a sixth sis to add to the clique but she couldn't make it to the signing party.

Can I just say that I am beyond stoked to live with these beauties. I've always dreamed of living in a house with a bunch of girls that I love and now that I am entering my senior year the timing could not be more perfect.

Plus the house is called The Chandelier House and has an adorable chandelier in the entry way. I think it is safe to say we have a few house parties coming our way, considering you have two event planners living under the same roof.
